ObjectDirector is an OMG CORBA 2.0 compliant environment which supports
applications based on Object-Oriented principles. OMG CORBA 2.0, which
is the latest version of CORBA, basically inherits the CORBA 1.2
interface, except for some influences in applications, and regulates
interoperability. It includes both an Object Request Broker and Object Services.
Fujitsu's ObjectDirector will interconnect with
other OMG-compliant ORBs to create an effective heterogeneous network of
distributed systems. Through ObjectDirector, local applications will
have access to the emerging world of distributed applications and objects
available in complex networks.
ObjectDirector also provides a development environment and a runtime
environment for a distributed application as a distributed object
environment. Since ObjectDirector is compliant with CORBA 2.0, it is
possible to easily interconnect with other ORBs on the network. In
addition, ObjectDirector also has the ability to cooperate with PCs using
OLE, an OMG COM/CORBA compliant specification.
